As of July 25, the Atlantic hurricane season is down to 400% of average activity for the date, as measured by Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE) -- the anomaly peaked at 1100% of average on July 5. Climatologically, the steep uptick in activity is just 2-3 weeks away.

The Atlantic hurricane season kicks off June 1 and NOAA predicts a busier-than-usual season. Overall, climate change isn't making hurricanes significantly more frequent: but it's making them a lot worse. Slower, stronger, intensifying faster and with a LOT more rain.
