The ONLY way this entire “exposè” works is to be absolutely silent and unquestioning about why white men disproportionately held these positio s for generations, why they STILL disproportionately hold these positions despite some minor changes in a single age-cohort. That silence is required.

This "ruling" — 5 months after the 2024 election — would require 60,000+ NC voters who cast a ballot legally to somehow "cure" those ballots with ~2 weeks notice. It also tosses other eligible ballots completely. Should it stand, it would be the end of free and fair elections as we know them.

I’m trying, and I hope other people will try, to hold onto the simple notion that a US president cannot simply declare a federal law that was passed last year and literally upheld this week to be a nullity—even if it’s a not-so-hot law. The Congress is the body that can amend or repeal federal laws.

Lots to unpack here, but I will say this: Turns out teaching boys they are born superior (and telling girls they're biologically inferior) is not good for boys. Girls understand that they need to work to succeed. But boys often feel success should just happen.

A jury of 12 of his peers who heard all of the evidence and had the opportunity to hear his lawyers argue against it unanimously agreed that he was guilty. Prosecutors can't make that happen, nor can judges. That's our criminal justice system in action. The jurors found Trump guilty.

And sometimes they say the quiet part out loud. As when one of the moms I interviewed for Holding It Together--a former nurse--told me in 2021 that she opposed vaccines and masks, even though she had family members at high risk for Covid, because "they deserve what they get" for being "unhealthy."
