What Rosalind Franklin truly contributed to the discovery of DNA’s structure
Franklin was no victim in how the DNA double helix was solved. An overlooked letter and an unpublished news article, both written in 1953, reveal that she was an equal player.

Huntington's disease successfully treated for first time | BBC News
Huntington's disease has been successfully treated for the first time, say doctors. The disease runs through families, relentlessly kills brain cells and resembles a combination of dementia, Parkinson's and motor neurone disease. The new treatment is a type of gene therapy given during 12 to 18 hours of delicate brain surgery. An emotional research team became tearful as they described how data shows the disease was slowed by 75% in patients. Very pleased to see the Royal Society of Chemistry stand by its principles. I was part of the Inclusion and Diversity Committee that produced these resources, and know it is something the RSC takes really seriously.

In further University of Greater Manchester news: We’ve been hearing that a campus lift has been out of order since the beginning of this year. Last week, an unknown satirist placed a plaque next to the broken lift, saying it was actually an art installation called 'Ascenseur'.
