Excited to share our new
@chemicalscience.rsc.org
paper! We show that the fluorescent DNA base analogue ABN performs exceptionally under two-photon excitation, enabling single-molecule detection with >10× brightness vs other analogues and improved photostability.

What Rosalind Franklin truly contributed to the discovery of DNA’s structure
Franklin was no victim in how the DNA double helix was solved. An overlooked letter and an unpublished news article, both written in 1953, reveal that she was an equal player.

Very pleased to see the Royal Society of Chemistry stand by its principles. I was part of the Inclusion and Diversity Committee that produced these resources, and know it is something the RSC takes really seriously.

In further University of Greater Manchester news: We’ve been hearing that a campus lift has been out of order since the beginning of this year. Last week, an unknown satirist placed a plaque next to the broken lift, saying it was actually an art installation called 'Ascenseur'.
