Fun fact: I got into a fight with then- Justice Brown on Twitter ten or so years ago about the stupidity of electing judges. A decade later, I don’t practice law anymore, he’s a federal judge, and I still think electing judges is stupid.

Album release days are always weird. But they're just part of this whole process that starts with me looking out the window at the trees and wondering what I'm supposed to write about and ends with me pressing send on a mailing list email and praying that some folks listen.

A little bit too often I'm reminded that a LOT of people in the folk music community, especially those of a certain generation, don't understand that the term "gypsy" is generally considered derogatory.

It’s out everywhere Friday so you can decide for yourself whether it’s folk music or country music. I have no idea but I very much appreciate the folks at @popmatters.com taking notice of this little album of mine.

Is this folk or is this country music? Terry Klein doesn’t choose as much as he shows the connections between the two. Suffice it to say, this is Texas music.

Today would have been my Great Aunt Madeline's 103rd birthday. I wrote this for her after she passed. I promise I wasn't trying to win the "who can write the saddest song" contest.

A nice thing is when someone posts a video of you and you thought you were singing off-key but from the video it seems that you weren't. That's a nice thing.

We live a couple of blocks from a Catholic church and I learned that there was a new pope because the bells started ringing and I think that's approximately the coolest thing ever.
