Hey everyone! Big life update: I officially moved out and into my first apartment! It’s been an exciting adventure (with a side of exhaustion), but I’m getting settled. Hoping to be back to work soon! :)) In the meantime, enjoy some new TJOC screenshots :>

Working on the bedroom level has pushed me to dive deeper into Unreal. I'm exploring procedural/dynamic sound and music as well as Niagara's VFX capabilities – though I'm keeping my best experiments under wraps for now. Here's one of the effects I played around with today! 😁

Very important to listen to your mind and body here, I kept pushing myself by increasing the amount of tasks, the amount of time I spent working/learning and then ended up being burned out for like 2 weeks now. Slowly getting back into it again now 😈

interesting how the left leaning social media platform is overflowing with positivity and good vibes, while the right leaning social media platform is overflowing with hate, negativity, and rot. wonder if that means anything.

Over at the other place all I see is "this game sucks" "the industry is cooked" "Woke! DEI!" *complaints about game fidelity* Here meanwhile: "I love this game" "Check out my gaming collection" "Here's a list of games I love" *Overwhelming positive discussion* The contrast is staggering.

Most experiences I have in the real world, outside, away from my computer, makes me believe people are kind by default. One smile is all it takes to get one in return. People paying attention, present in the moment, tend to be ready to help, and often do.

Remember folks. If you wanna DM someone it's better to say more than just "Hi how are you?" Let them why you're there. Actually start a conversation, Something like "Hey I just wanted to say I loved your art!" Or something like that. Just saying "Hi" or "Hello" usually turns people away.

Stop relying on motivation. Don't wait until you "feel like it". Want to learn something? Create a plan. 1 hour of learning every day is too much? Do 45 mins. Too much? lower until you are comfortable. Create a habit. 30 mins every day is a lot better than that any bout of motivation.
