Years ago I read Annie Dillard's "The Writing Life", and she has a quote I always come back to: "How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives." I come back to writing, musical practice, game development, because I don't want it in my obituary that I worried, and scrolled, and died.

There is something to be said for having something that could consume as much energy as you can offer it these days—raising kids, a creative practice, community involvement, etc., or any combination of these. Something that can (even if it doesn’t always) break the scrolling, that’s a counterweight.
