Finally got the chance to play Keeper and Im so glad I played it! After 9 years of trying to land an art role my hopes were at there lowest in 2025 I really wanna thank @leepetty.bsky.social and the @doublefine.com team for reminding me why Im bothering to try and enter this stinky industry ♥️

My wonderful partner brought me my favourite little pixar robot for Christmas! Now I just need a moment to build them 🙏😅

Thats everything except all the nuts/bolts... in hindsight I really should have thought of a more efficient solution for them.. I used to use instanced meshes in 3DS Max but I find the Blender version a little messy when i tried it 🤔 #GameArt #gamedev

People of #GameArt does anyone have a recommendations for a monitor with a decent refresh rate for gaming and good colour quality for art? My monitor turns 15 years old in 2026 and it holds up but really cant do anything art wise on it as the white balance/colour is knackered compared to my tablet

I wouldnt normally take a render halfway through making a lowpoly but wanted to make sure the bake is sitting nice #gamedev #GameArt

Did a fun little experiment on the logo of the press Tried baking with some of the lettering geo intact and then with no lettering geo at all to see if I could save the tris.. The marmo skew tool tried its best to save it but no geo is just a mess... Well worth the 200 tris 😂 #GameArt #gamedev

Calling the pass on the wood counter done for now will probably tweak once I get to baking it! Also added some rounded off allen key bolts to really sell its wear and tear 😅 #gamedev #GameArt

I started a new job trimming/assembling carbon fibre parts for motorsport+hyper/supercars And it really put into perspective how fucked the #gamedev industry is.. 😭 I am working on cars in the range of £800k-£3 million and what requirements did I need to land the role.. Nothing.

Made the classic mistake of trying to push through late at night Instead of just trying again in the morning. realised my hubris when I spent like 2 hours squinting at a mesh and I could not for the life of me figure out a pinch😅 #GameArt #gamedev

A friend once explained using Ngons as "try to make the shape you want using the least amount of loops" This hinge I just did would have taken me ages a 2 years ago as I would try to find a way to quad the corner and still keep the curvature now I just delete the loops and let SubD work it out 😎

3D artists, show your wireframes (These two are my favourite I love how much mileage I got out of a flat plane for the draws on the toolbox 😅)

There has been a few times so far with this highpoly where I have to try and work out which way something spins, attaches, etc and it normally ends in my scribbling on a screenshot till it makes sense 😅 Maybe Ill try rigging/animating for the first time with this? 🤔 #gamdev #GameArt

Im naive but its 2025 I really thought we'd have grown out of comparing AAA titles "cod 7 vs BF6!!" Like one cant exist cause the other is doing well It hurts the devs and the players who might have played but have been put off by public opinion The only thing benefiting is clickbait media outlets
