I did it! Turns out even my shitty made Photoshop anim (took 64x3 times more clicks than the amount of clicks I can do it in Blender) was correct, and my anim glitch was because I didn't use the correct packer method in my texture atlas generator. Should have read the docs!

Trying out some hand drawn anims. Right one is my first quick try (one under the spire). Left one is an attempt to get smooth motion rotation, before I go in and splatter painted "energy fluctuations" by hand on each frame. For some reason my rotation doesn't work so I have to retry it tomorrow.

So for some reason this no longer works? My dirs added as exceptions now keep getting blocked again? Only way I now found is to fully disable Smart App Control, otherwise my allowed dir of Painter 3D, for example, keeps getting blocked. See you in 10 days for another update once this breaks!

I'm wrapping up a new video answering student questions and the one I didn't address that's on my mind is how if you embrace AI art early, so you are "not left behind", you will be left behind due to lack of skills and visual language learning.

If I post or reply and you reply with an app account using a chatbot, I won’t go “oh I wonder what their app is for!” and look it up on the app stores. Instead I’ll just block you. Like why do you think most people would do the opposite? Such a bad outreach tactic. Awful. Muddy the net.

Have a life and hobbies outside of your art that you put time into. You need space and distance from anything you love or you will burn out and growing resentful of it. Your life can be more than just one thing and as a result you will get new ideas and happier making art.

If you get random errors that a *.dll is refusing to work, related to opening your OBS, Blender, Substance Designer, Painter, insert any game dev software really, then you have to navigate to Windows Security and add exception for the folder of your software. That fixes it.

Here is a -fun- AI -aided- experience: I recently sold some RAM on Ebay. Few days later, buyer contacts me & demands to return it because item is described wrongly by me. Turns out he took pic of the label, AI searched it, AI hallucinated & lied to him, so he came back to me. Everything was correct.

There is so much in 007 that’s just brilliantly done but honestly the random NPC barks and the entire non gameplay related stories they reveal makes the world so much more alive and is the absolute highlight for me.

From the demo of About Fishing (2026). Long I've wished for a game that would take some occupation or activity simulator — trucking or chess, say — and surround it with an entire person's history of being. Here there's also a surreal mystery thriller. It's one of the best demos I've played.
