The absolute most talented, intelligent person is only a barely perceptible hair above average. We build microscopes to try and draw attention to that distinction because of a social craving to rationalize otherwise irrational hierarchies, but if viewed clearly, we are all incredible.

2025 was a less intense year for me than 2024, but I mostly think that's a good thing! 2024 was a year of luck, and 2025 was a year of sustainability. I kept steady, and the interruptions I had were *good* interruptions. I experimented, and learned from my experiments.

I liked Eliza a lot, its a great series of reflections on "what if my magnum opus isn't something I can be proud of." Which, if you're working on some morally challenging projects, might fuck you up a bit. Also Zachtronics is one of the rare publisher that I can generally get hype about.
