This is a big deal for CSAM. Unfortunately, nothing in the Liberal platform suggests they’ll protect politically besieged supervised consumption sites. Not one mention of harm reduction period. Their new drug policy ideas amount to empowering cops to tear open mail now with a “general warrant.”

It’s not uncommon for people seeking on demand detox and treatment to be told to call daily for a spot. This is heartbreaking and discouraging, especially in crisis. Help should be there when someone is ready. Have you or a loved one experienced this? Please share and include your province.

Reminder📣📣 ALL treatment centers in BC are NOT required to submit rigorous outcome data for their funding. @momsstoptheharm.bsky.social are demanding regulation to these massive money-making ventures. $10-30k for 30-60 days in treatment beds WITHOUT data that it works is as good as snake-oil.

And we wonder why there is such a push back on 'Involuntary Care'. We do not have anywhere near the amount of 'voluntary' care needed to even think there is a need for forced care.

Red Dye No. 3 lost its FDA approval on a technicality, NOT because it has ever caused any harm to humans whatsoever. "Sobriety" can be so dangerous especially when coerced by others who value abstinence above all else. Prohibition increases danger, better to be using safe regulated supply than abstinent and hospitalised. I really hope she survives this.
