Today was a solid day: I got my housework done, saw a women's hockey game, wrote a bit, and relaxed in front of the TV. That's a win in my book. I'll have more hockey-related thoughts later.

I am making my way downtown to watch women's hockey. As one does when the PWHL Takeover Tour is in town. It's been great seeing little girls in their hockey jerseys stepping onto the Metro heading into DC.

It's that time again. It's time for me to report that I wrote some words today. Now I shall sleep and continue to process my Feelings about "Star Trek: Starfleet Academy."

Honestly? "Star Trek: Starfleet Academy" is delightful. And it's also much-needed right now. I've enjoyed the first couple of episodes.

All in all, it was a pretty good day in my little pocket of the universe. We had some quality family time to celebrate my dad's birthday. I worked a bit. I wrote some words. And now it's time for bed.

And that's a wrap on Tuesday here. Nothing particularly of note to report. I worked, picked up ingredients to make soup for my dad's birthday tomorrow, and watched some more "Andor." I also made some words happen. Even a few words feels like a big accomplishment these days.

I'm diving back into my "Andor" re-watch. It's wild how often people quote Nemik these days. It doesn't hurt that his words are so applicable right now.

Man, if I stumble into making tens of millions of dollars I hope I have the good sense to shut the fuck up and build a bunch of libraries and fund food banks so when I check out peoples first response isn’t “So, that asshole’s done.” The bar. It is SO LOW.

Speaking of being a responsible adult, I went to work despite the malaise testing the borders of my immune system and the utterly crap might of sleep I got. I also wrote words, napped, and started the aforementioned "Andor" re-watch.

All right. Pausing my re-watch after 4 episodes so I can head to bed. I can be a responsible adult.

I had evening plans that fell through because I feel like there might be some sort of ailment creeping up on me. But I did laundry and cooked dinner. I also wrote some words. Now, I shall head to bed early because I still have work tomorrow.

I have other thoughts that can wait until later. I'm trying to get back into some kind of posting habit. But, for now, let us say that the world often feels like a trash fire with little puffs of joy every now and again. I try to inhale deeply when I can. Oh, and I wrote words today. Yay.

I'm not opposed to the idea of longer theatrical runtimes. I just have a simple suggestion: Bring back intermissions. You want your movie to be 4 hours long? Intermission. People will be able to pee. They will be able to buy snacks. Win-win for audience bladders and theaters.
