Welcoming Swedish Defence Minister Pål Jonson to EUSPA. From safeguarding assets to building secure communications, EUSPA is working to ensure space strengthens European resilience and autonomy. Sweden is an active contributor to the EU Space Programme, making today’s exchange especially meaningful.

When in the Netherlands: just a short walk from Noordwijk beach, you’ll find the Galileo Reference Centre. Together with DG DEFIS colleagues, we visited the GRC, monitoring Galileo’s performance daily. It provides EUSPA and EU stakeholders with an independent check on the quality of GNSS services.

Galileo OSNMA answers the call for a stronger, more resilient GNSS. By safeguarding signal authenticity, it enhances protection for critical services across key industries, marking a major milestone in the EU’s commitment to secure space-based services.

EGNOS, a flagship of the #EUSpace Programme, enhances GNSS performance for aviation, maritime, transport and agriculture. EUSPA has awarded Thales Alenia Space a contract to extend EGNOS V2’s operational life, strengthening system resilience and supporting a growing user base.

In our meeting with @earsc.bsky.social, we discussed @euspa.bsky.social's market uptake for EO, and how EUSPA and EARSC can collaborate to boost Europe’s EO sector. Strengthening industry ties and supporting SMEs and startups is what keeps Europe competitive in the global EO market.
