Now that the dust has settled a bit. Gotham absolutely put their foot in their mouth with the announcement, but a lot of the heat they are getting needs to be directed at Red Bull. This move is a direct result of how poorly they have treated us.

Furthermore, I’m told there are no plans to change name or crest! The club’s full government name is “NJ/NY Gotham Football Club LLC” but will simply be referred to as Gotham FC as they’ve been doing the last few years.

One thing I forgot to add in here is about the NJ/NY part of the team name. They have been unofficially just Gotham FC for a couple years now, even changing their tricode from NJY to GFC. Legally, it’s still NJ/NY Gotham FC. Unclear if that will change.

Change always brings uncertainty but I'm optimistic the move will attract the crowd Gotham deserves. Even though the commute is longer for me, it'll be cool to meet new fans. I am very proud to be a New Jersey Cloud 9 supporter. All I ask in return is that the club appreciate its fans here.
