@ricky.fm Is there a way to make a state update inside a form action run sync? E.g. I want to show the toast immediately when the button is pressed: codesandbox.io/p/devbox/lau... Currently I have to force the state update to run in the next tick so it runs outside the transition, but feels hacky.

TIL: the "sync" in @react.dev's useSyncExternalStore isn't for "synchronise", it's for "synchronous". As: it's not for synchronising against an external store, It's for synchronously (ie: disabling concurrent features) updating against a store's changes. h/t @tkdodo.eu 🤯

We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers. The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.

Noticing that a common mistake in TS is to reach for `satisfies` when a type annotation would have been sufficient / more appropriate. Perhaps a rule of thumb: use `satisfies` when you want to infer a type but constrain it to some base type. For everything else, use annotations.
