Thought I brought the lentils with dijon Balsamic, but apparently I still had a lentil soup in the freezer, which is fine, except I forgot to pack my silverware, and my best plastic backup option in my office is a spork.

If your brain doesn't make the chemicals it needs, there is nothing shameful or dependent on getting those chemicals from a doctor. Saying elsewise is saying that glasses, shoes, and clothing are all shameful, as our bodies are not naturally equipped to walk on broken glass without injury.

I have heard so many well-meaning people say about their own pain "I just don't want to put so many extra chemicals in my body" as if this is some situation where suffering will do less harm in the long term. It won't!!! If you can't make your own brain chemicals, store bought are fine!!!!

Dreamt I took the cats to work without cat carriers, which was (somehow) fine, until I had to get them back in the car to go home.

Saw a squirrel and their half-grown kid crossing the street this evening - adult squirrel would run a few feet and wait for the kid to catch up before continuing, before they got all the way across.

On the one hand, it would be neat if I could communicate with my gut microbiome to ask why they're upset. On the other, they're bacteria, and they probably don't know either.

Last night I dreamt that a) someone I follow on here worked at my library (but somehow not one of the library people I follow) and b) I had so much excess energy in the dream I could not sit still, which would be really useful today, when we need to finish cleaning out the garage.

The cyberattack on The British Library in October 2023 knocked out ebooks and almost ever other computer thing there for years. Ebooks just came back. They were knocked out everywhere using the BL’s license (legal deposit libraries I think? More libraries?) Distributed physical copies matter.
