Just in: A compromise deal on the 10-year state AI law moratorium is *off* after Sen. Marsha Blackburn pulled out of the agreement. She’ll now oppose the moratorium.

This is great reporting on the AI regulation moratorium from Rebecca Bellan and Maxwell Zeff. If these companies are actually facing serious regulatory burden, it should be easy enough for them to say so.

NEW: Last year, @johnnyryan.bsky.social made a website for a fake company using a photo of Russian soldiers to purposely elicit suspicion. A US data broker offered him access to thousands of lists of American devices anyway. Many lists targeted US leaders and defense contractors. Our latest:

WIRED was able to confirm the existence of these lists inside Google's system. Many appear to violate its own rules. Google did not offer real answers for why these lists were accessible, saying things like "We have policies..." and "Google does not permit...." But clearly it is permitting it.
