This 1928 pictorial map depicts Concord, MA in a blend between the (then) modern city and its historical ties. Important revolutionary events, like Paul Revere and Dr. Prescott’s ride to warn the minutemen, are seen alongside mentions of Henry David Thoreau and the Concord Country Club.

This map is emblematic of the continued influence revolutionary-era history has had on the culture and community of Concord long after the initial events. @minutemannps has helped educate new generations on this history, while the modern town of Concord has continued to grow and adapt alongside it.

Concord, MA throws an annual birthday party for one of its most historic citizens. Ellen Garrison was born this week in 1823, taught formerly enslaved people how to read and enforced the Civil Rights Act of 1866 by bringing a case to court. The town is extremely proud of her!
