"What was your biggest impact on the Internet?" When I was 14 years old I screenshot this MiiVerse post and put it on my tumblr blog. It became a huge meme in the Splatoon community and was referenced in the actual games multiple times

The current big drama in the increasingly stupid western comic book world: DC released cult classic title Warlord on a (more expensive) paperstock that matches original newsprint, giving a more accurate coloring. Collectors are review bombing in outrage because they think glossy = more expensive.

I know that usually if you hang around long enough you "get it" eventually, but here's some quick explainers about different types of posts going around for art. A lot of new people reply to art trains or halt the train by not copying text, so here's the difference!

A truly great idea. 10,000 ethical assets freely available. Thereβs no excuse for resorting to so-called AI with this and the *many* other assets you can use without resorting to laundered plagiarism. Support real artists, not con artists.

Adding to this; you don't have to compromise quality for time, if you're thoughtful about it. Be stragetic with the squiggles and colors. There is a lot of power in implied details, shape/composition, lineweight, contrast, and a good establishing shot.

if you're one person making a comic by yourself, don't treat yourself like you should function on the same level as comics that have multiple people working on them. your backgrounds can be squiggles and colors. allow yourself room to be abstract with details and give yourself some grace

if I had to choose between "being able to comfortably support myself and my family through my writing" and "actually making a difference with my writing" I would be deeply conflicted. thankfully, neither of those things is actually on the table so this is more of a goku vs superman kind of situation

I feel like it is culturally important to note that I recently played an old episode of the Simpsons on Disney+ for some kids and then a random newer episode and the kids, unprompted, were like βhow come this isnβt as funny?β so itβs not just nostalgia we are correct
