Legally challenging the individual officers doing this, rather than the CC of TVP, would almost certainly have an effect. It's well established that individual officers have to conclude areest or other action is necessary. That just following orders thing again.

His voice doesn’t replace or supplant Palestinian voices, which are essential. He’s addressing his own community of historians, scholars, genocide experts, memory institutions etc, and that’s where I think his status and the platform he’s chosen matter.

I think this does a couple of things that are useful. First, it helps create a permission structure for those who are horrified by what’s happening but are nervous about saying so out loud. Second, it lays down a marker that means powerful people won’t be able to pretend later that they didn’t know.
