4.1 contains a refactored log impl for the raft library that quorum queues and Khepri uses (Ra). In particular we disconnected the lifetime of the memtables from the WAL, allowing much more flexibility around how memory can be reclaimed resulting in a lower and more intuitive memory use profile.

Why is so much modern electronic music completely lacking in melody, but tediously melodious? Happy to give up tunes ‘n’ riffs if there’s interesting stuff going on, but arpeggiators will never write a melody for you.

I think anyone that works for big (tech) companies will have to, at times, pinch their noses to stay on but working for Meta that pinch may becomes so intense it will take the entire nose off, maybe even the whole face.

1/ There's a lot of scepticism around the govt. pushing an "AI all the things" message at the moment. I think scepticism is right, but for the wrong reasons currently. Could public services be hugely improved through better use of technology? Sure, but that was true before the current AI hype cycle.

No new quorum queues features are scheduled for RabbitMQ 4.1 but there will be some nice performance improvements, a bit higher throughput, lower latency and much improved consumption performance when consuming from a long backlog.
