One of my mentors (Ernst Pöppel) always talks about how Walle Nauta thought that "every nerve cell is not farther away from any other in the brain than 4 intermediate steps". I don't think this is a consensus but this type of monosynaptic connectivity studies really push you to take it seriously.

In a new paper, we found that older adults show attenuated explicit motor learning but enhanced implicit adaptation. Through a series of meta-analyses and experiments, we dive into the mechanisms underlying these age-related effects. Huge shoutout to Elizabeth Cisneros for leading the effort!
