I acquired a BUNCH of games released this (well now last) year. So here's a list of every 2025 game I played. I'll try posting 5 to 10 a day because I can't seem to stop documenting what I do with my free time.

Since it's almost the end of the year, figure I'd make my own minor best and worst list. Because if I survive a whole year of misery, I feel like I should get to judge things that only matter to me.

It drives me nuts when a terrible person dies, and we are all supposed to pretend they were great, like telling the truth is somehow uncouth. Brigette Bardot was a truly despicable racist, homophobe, bigot, and lifelong supporter of fascists. Acknowledge her work, I guess, but don't celebrate her.

As a former concept artist, this hurts my very soul. People hired us for because coming up with/refining a concept was what was needed, and a few of my friends still in the game have been screaming about how AI just makes everything worse to deaf ears.

In Gaming News That Sucks, Humanity (the Lemmings-like puzzler by the Tetris Effect people) is losing its level-sharing stuff in a few months, which will be bringing over 30,000 user-made levels with it. This is doubly awful as they've run community design contests every month since launch.

Realised I think the reason I haven't gone back to the gym on almost 3 years isn't because im ashamed of my weight - its that I didnt have any cool clothes that I could wear as both a former gym rat AND a dorky goth kid.

I can't say I loved the game awards because it seemed like there were more ads and less actual awards given out than previous years...but the first hour of the show was really nice, it did have reveals that grabbed me and it also had lots of Clair Obscur wins so I can't say I hated it either.

I've enjoyed it for tje most part, but Persona 3 portable just will not END. It has been a slog grinding and trying to complete requests with RNG, and there is no way im going to be 100% it to get all the personas. And play it AGAIN for an achievment. I put in 250 hours into 5 but it was a blast!

Finally tried Iron Lung and couldn't get into it. I get the tank controls but no visual cues on the map just left me aimless and trying to look up info just led to thousands of react and lore videos instead of ways to understand coordinates. Neat concept, but very not for me.

It took me almost 26 years...but I finally finished Final Fantasy IX after stopping at the final boss as a kid because I just wasn't sure I could finish it. Despite many, MANY flaws it hit me right in the heart. Without a doubt my favorite one.

Cool free stuff alert: They're giving away the base version of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 this weekend. Really good co-op first-person brawler about the world's most dysfunctional friend group fighting through the ratpocalypse. There's some decent DLC but they've added a LOT for free over the years.
