Nutrivention: Food as medicine
Nutrivention is using dietary interventions to impact response to cancer treatment. Increasing fiber intake can improve response rates for patients undergoing immunotherapy treatment for melanoma because fiber is a food source for beneficial bacteria in our gut microbiome. Increasing fiber intake to even just 30 grams per day may lead to positive changes.

Most folks do not understand how far in advance the planning and logistics of NIH grants take. We prepare for months or years for these submissions for one of 3 cycles per year. This study section cancellation delays grants by at least 6 months when study sections are cancelled.

Age is an independent predictor of brain mets across all bc subtypes (yes, even er+\her2-). Younger women are at higher risk. Dr. Diana Cittellyâs fascinating discussion of estrogen and brain mets went well beyond this but as someone diagnosed under 40 with MBC, I wish I knew this earlier.
