I shared the ASCO stage with Dr Dawn Hershman when we were both awarded a career development award as we were starting our careers. Amazing to share the stage with her again as we are awarded once more at #ASCO25. Truly honored and excited to do so.

The community engagement session led by @drdonsdizon.bsky.social at #SCHD25 demonstrated impactful outcomes. The work of Dr. Memnun Seven with cancer survivors, Dr. Andrew Sussman's CAB strategies, and Dr. Vida Henderson's media approaches show that authentic partnerships improve results.

I'm not practicing much but I am who I am because of my very Catholic parents who taught me right from wrong and to care for everybody. I admired Pope Francis. He will be missed in this very turbulent world.

FWIW... The law requires NIH to ensure diversity in its funded research, emphasizing inclusion of women... not females. Women. The law is on the side of diversity, equity, and Inclusion.

A v A vestige of the AIDS epidemic, i still remember wearing this as a t-shirt when i was a resident carrying for men and women dying of HIV. It seems the lessons from that epidemic are informative today.

How does that saying go? It's not over till it's over? I have to be an optimistic realist, but that's why academia needs to collaborate with industry. We can't do it alone. Indeed, there's a major role for our medical societies to stand up.

They don’t have the least idea what they’re doing. It’s performative destruction. And they’re sociopaths so it doesn’t matter to them if people suffer because of their actions. I saw someone refer to DOGE as “bureaucratic wilding”—I presume you recall the latter term from the 80s. It fits!

What could possibly be gained? So much at stake, so many careers in jeopardy. So much progress stalled.
