FYI, the spending bill that is up for vote today: ~omits $22.8B in advance funding for the Toxic Exposures Fund leaving veterans, who were exposed to burn pits during service, w/o certainty of care ~cuts $280M from the NIH, impacting research on cancer, Alzheimer’s & other diseases.

The dissonance between the gutting of budgets for cancer research & the number of metastatic cancer diagnoses among my family, friends, and community members this last month is both astounding and soul crushing. Nope, I'm not okay today. But feels like most on BlueSky are experiencing the same.
