It's already so weird that the people obsessed with creating all-purpose AI to be their personal slave are also obsessed with said personal slave being conscious of its enslavement. But explicitly arguing that it'll be conscious but that shouldn't affect how you treat it is actually evil.

The TikTok decision lets the gov attack press freedom under the guise of national security. The Pentagon Papers case told courts to be skeptical of national security justifications for censorship. This is the latest example of judges ignoring that instruction.

It's wild because Americans feel like the media is completely gaslighting them- the media refuses to validate their emotions but everyone on TikTok will. Then on top of that, TikTok, the space where their frustrations are validated & discussed openly is being taken from them. They're furious.
