It’s been 45 days since Adelita Grijalva was elected by the people of Arizona. Mike Johnson is still refusing to swear her in because she’s the final vote for the discharge petition to release the Epstein files.

Nothing says “man of the people” like adding gold trim and a shiny sign outside the Oval Office. Somewhere, Marie Antoinette is whispering, “tone it down.”

Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.

Will we ever get our democratic norms back , let alone qualified individuals in positions of power ever again? The damage they are doing is staggering. Electing Democrats to check their arrogant use of raw power for their own private gain is the only way!

Between what came before and what happened tonight, Dems ought to treat encounters with CBS reporters as presumptively hostile and untrustworthy. A small thing, but there’s no way out of this disaster if the party continues helplessly submitting to unequal treatment from ~all mediating institutions.
