My company is forming its own choir, pretty much from scratch. Our first project is to learn some Christmas carols, starting now... in September. I may achieve #Harkageddon three months before Christmas!

It was fun to join the Past Choristers Evensong today, and see some of my former choir colleagues. It feels weird that it's been 10 years since I left the cathedral choir, but it still feels like second nature to be back.

My church choir is in England right now on tour—in residence at St Paul’s and at Canterbury Cathedral. They do it every 3 years. I couldn’t go this year. Wondering today whether it will be safe for me to visit the UK in 3 years. And who in the Anglican Communion or TEC will notice or care.

My company are setting up a new workplace choir. We had our 3rd rehearsal after work today, and so far we've got 3 pages into learning "You'll never walk alone". We're not even at the chorus. Let's just say, it's a little more of a sedate pace than I'm used to.

I've been tinkering with my psalm verse bot. It now includes the psalm and verse number, and also the translation from the Book of Common Prayer.

While our pipe organ is still broken, we have this electronic organ to fill in.

The organ at church is still banjaxed, so the music list has been amended to an unaccompanied mass setting.

Our Director of Music got about a page into the voluntary before the organ gave up and he had to stop. He's normally so skilled at working around the faults of the instrument that most people don't realise how broken it is. Anyone got a couple of million they want to spend rebuilding our organ?

This day last year I took my wife to the Jolly Judge pub in Edinburgh. Back when I lived there in the early noughties, this was a regular Sunday night haunt after Evensong.
