The whole "Voice Command" genre that got lightly pioneered largely on the PS2 probably could've been entirely salvaged and pushed forward into the future if they had just ensured there was always a clunky-if-functional fallback option\Mute Mode where you could signal a voice command without audio.

Video essays are a marathon, and after spending so much of myself for so long to make this it makes me feel like I should give up on something I have wanted so very long to do. But I know in my heart of hearts that I failed to really cross the finish line on some technical audio aspects here.

I think LANCER is the only Tabletop RPG iHave ever actively dissociated while attempting to run combat during. It's happened to me trying to listen to other peoples' combat in various games during Actual Play live streams, but never as the GM at a table.

I think a hard truth we may need to accept in 2026 is that no children's author is beloved enough to open the door to real socio-political influence to, no matter how much money they have or how many people podcast about how their works mean everything to them. Needs to be made unthinkable.

Sidenote: I have come to completely adore and consider organic 1oo% of all slang/lingo from Cyberpunk. 2077 does a better job than the anime by a country mile of normalizing it organically. It all sits well and feels natural. Something you've gotta play the game to get imo.

I missed the networking discourse, did anyone talk about the fact that during BLM Black creators and academics were reached out to in record numbers and then when we thought we had solidarity it vanished? Which led to many folks suffering representational burn out and distrust for ttrpgs as a whole?
