How the fuck are devs supposed to survive if making a successful, beloved live service game isn’t enough to keep them employed

I don't get it, man. You make one of the most successful LIVE service titles of the generation, despite the world telling you LIVE service is dead - and still get laid off? What are we even doing at this point

A lot of people our age grew up in a world where doing an artistic job fulltime and live off it was certainly a challenge, but not the complete impossibility it is now, and it's very hard to just accept the world you wanted to live in has been destroyed on purpose by people who hate you.
