I was so excited for Super Mario Galaxy 2 to finally drop on Switch, just for it to be a massive disappointment in terms of speedrunning... loads are awful, Banktoad is gone and replaced with Amiibo, the vast majority of cutscenes are still unskippable... well, at least it's okay casually ig :/

After spending an ungodly amount of time on the game over the weekend and managing to win / do well in a lot more races, I kinda just got used to it, though I still think the game would REALLY benefit from a bit of nerfing to the items. Other than that, these were super fun to grind out lol:

Genuine question: how do people enjoy these racing games when it's literally all luck no skill due to the items? Took me HOURS to get lucky enough not to get annihilated by items right before the end and go from 1st/2nd to 9-10th... they NEED to add an itemless mode when the full game comes out lol

Decided to hop back on and grind out the 1st track again (definitely didn't get addicted), and after winning the race dozens of additional times with multiple small PBs in the span of several hours, I managed to lower it from 1:57.91 (by Gus!) down to 1:57.75 👀 (vid soon on the same channel)

Finally got myself to finish a single playthrough of Sonic Adventure 2, and imma be real here sports fans... I don't see how this is meant to be better than SA1. Some things are on par or maybe even a bit better for sure (e.g. Kart Racing & Chao), but overall SA1 still clears lol

Saw the Minecraft Movie today, and while the story left a lot to be desired, overall it was actually very decent I'd say. Also by far the liveliest experience I've had in a theater thus far, nowhere near as bad as some clips I've seen online thank god, but people were applauding constantly lmfao

This was the last game I needed to derust for the Solo 1545 Any%, and albeit it took a few resets, got a pretty chunky PB out of it... go time soon methinks 👀

Crash Speedrunning

Surprised Nintendo didn't really show off its biggest new twist in the Mario Kart World trailer

Wife left and she took the kids as well as my 2nd Wii Remote and Chinese disc of Super Mario Galaxy 2, so I had to resort to doing Any% runs on the slowest version with just 1P yesterday... :/

Bruh there ain't no way I got the Banjo-Kazooie + Banjo-Tooie Any% WORLD RECORD by nearly 3 minutes, as well as 2nd place for the Rareware Trilogy Any% in this LMFAO (the RTA was 2:44:09 due to some tech issues in game swaps, but they don't count those towards the final time)

Yesterday's stream was very rough, had an SMG 1 (120) ROML completely collapse 4 hours in, but if anything, at least I got this golden interaction out of it...

Finally did my first ever Super Meat Boy 106% speedrun yesterday, which I had as my 500 follower goal on Twitch and took forever to get around to... have a lot of things I wanna work on first, but this was pretty fun, so I definitely wanna come back for more in the future 👀

I got a 50:50 in DK64 Any%, which re-times to 50:50.550 exactly, you actually cannot make this up lmfao... run was pretty flawless for my standards tho, apart from a few small hiccups, so I think I'll be moving on to Banjo-Tooie Any% derust in prep for the Solo 1545 Any% 👀
