On January 13, 1930, the daily Mickey Mouse newspaper first appeared. It was initially written by Walt Disney & drawn by Ub Iwerks. But it is most associated with artist Floyd Gottfredson, who began drawing it in May 1930 and continued until 1975 (and 1976 on the Sunday strips.)

Disneyland Handcrafted, a new documentary from Leslie Iwerks, begins streaming Jan. 22 on Disney+ and Disney's YouTube channel. The documentary uses rare archival footage to give viewers an inside look at the creation of Disneyland.

Fearless. I was trying to think about how I feel about Eddie Sotto and that was it. Before I worked at WDI and during, watching the projects he worked on, seeing him head out on his own, and the conversations I’ve had with him, that is the word that came to my mind. 🧵

Even though I knew this day was coming, I somehow thought Eddie's eternal optimism would somehow delay the inevitable. So despite being prepared, I’m devastated and heartbroken, but somewhat comforted knowing Eddie was not fearful of the next chapter; in fact he was ready to embrace it.
