Watching Disneyland Handcrafted, and one of the many satisfying components is archival audio from the actual craftspeople such as Joe Fowler, Ruth Shellhorn and Harper Goff in place of a narrator. A spectacular choice that gives the imagery a more naturally-hewn feel: a true home run.

On January 13, 1930, the daily Mickey Mouse newspaper first appeared. It was initially written by Walt Disney & drawn by Ub Iwerks. But it is most associated with artist Floyd Gottfredson, who began drawing it in May 1930 and continued until 1975 (and 1976 on the Sunday strips.)

This is really a volume to pick up 📚 the graphic novel adaptation of the 1990 DuckTales feature film broke from the standard panel format for some impressive page layouts 🙌🏼

Disneyland Handcrafted, a new documentary from Leslie Iwerks, begins streaming Jan. 22 on Disney+ and Disney's YouTube channel. The documentary uses rare archival footage to give viewers an inside look at the creation of Disneyland.

In 2026, I'd like to be one of those artists who post a sketch every day. Not gonna happen, but I did finish this.
