So I'm a full time author, making between 50-60k/year depending on how prolific I am. The number of times my in-laws have mocked my job as "not a real job", when I work 9am-3pm and 10pm-midnight, Monday to Friday, and also on weekends if it's during a deadline... every time. It's every time.

One of the strange parts about finishing a series is that it's over, and you have no idea if anyone is gonna read it. My final book came out Tuesday... it's a 400-page, 15-hour audiobook... and I'm getting fan letters and emails and private messages like I've never had before. Just me, crying.
