We have the opportunity to give GBR it's own identity, and help the railway work better through functional design. I'll cheerfully admit, my proposal isn't perfect, but it's a step in the correct direction - designed for the passenger. Let's start Moving Britain, by design.

Hypothetical; What if we refreshed ScotRail's visual identity, to line up with a LB/GBR Visual Identity? - RA2 - "SR Symbol 2" - new simplified logo/device - retains ScotRail's iconic color pallete. The idea; keeping a distinct brand, while also allowing cohesion with GBR VI.

Railway Blue! It's vital that we welcome every passenger into a cohesive visual ecosystem. That's why I would roll in Railway Blue into the visual identity of all pax touchpoints; Trains, wayfinding, apps, uniform etc. NR's wayfinding docs are beautiful; just needs blue. 💙

In the spirit of "I reckon I could give it a shot" - maybe a look at the new Railway Timepiece? - Seconds denomination for accuracy for both workforce and passengers - both Digital and Analogue faces. - retains the GBR color pallete.

Some formalised InterCity ideas; It just shows how flexible the visual identity could be we if we simplify it back to the main devices; - The primary, second and base colours. - The strong industrial icon of the double arrow. - Deploy the NR wayfinding pictograms and RA2.

Echoing Twitter; Even a modest alteration of GBR's proposal; - Professional - Clean - Uncontroversial - Visually accessible - Distinction between InterCity and regional services.
