It's Transgender Day of Remembrance today Every year, hundreds of trans people pass away through anti trans violence, suicide lack of available healthcare to name just a few of the most common causes This is far, far more than any other LGBTQIA+ group and that's just the ones we know we've lost

It’s been a while since I was in the journalism game (was I ever in it?) but I’ve nabbed a wee scoop: the second of Tasmania’s beleaguered ferries have arrived in Scotland. Spirit of Tasmania V arrived in the Forth Estuary in the early hours. She’s expected to dock in the port of Leith on Thursday.

Just spent a delightful afternoon on one of my company’s simulators. This was my face when I’d just finished dealing with a virtual train fire, only to be served with a virtual car on the virtual tracks.

Virgin made their name and empire by being bold, taking risks, doing things differently. Today, they’ve won the rights to run cross-channel trains by…doing the same as Eurostar.

Is this not a pretty solid demonstration that the established political parties are the issue, as opposed to the new opposition?

1993: Stephen Lawrence is murdered by racists. 1999: The MacPherson Inquiry recommends recording of non-crime hate incidents. 2005: After the Discrimination Law Review, non-crime hate incidents begin being recorded by UK police. 2025: Mainstream transphobia ends a harm reduction policy that worked.

Met Police says it will no longer investigate non-crime hate incidents
The move comes as an investigation into Father Ted creator Graham Linehan is dropped, after his arrest over a post on X.

A parcel for me arrived from Greece earlier. I can’t think of a better way to explain this other than it *smells* of Greece inside the package. And it’s not cocaine.

Old news with a hint of scaremongering from The National here. This leak was reported by the nuclear regulator last year and no increase in radioactivity in groundwater has been detected.

Accidentally booked the American Tourist Hotel. Website offered upgrade to room with Acropolis view. Get to room - view only possible by leaning over side of balcony. Great views of “Lido Dream Girls Bar”, “Babylon Strip Show” and “Kinky Opera House”, however.

There’s a few problems with this front page: 1. The South Sub line never closed - it’s open right now 2. It’s used by 30 freight trains a day which would otherwise have to go through the congested Waverley and Haymarket stations 3. The tram pictured is not an Edinburgh tram - it’s from Sheffield
