One of the things I enjoy most about social media and baseball is the inevitable “bench him he didn’t run hard on a ball that is foul/an out 99% of the time”. Yes everyone should try their best all the time, but if I was on tv every time I half assed work it would fill 24 hours a week

A few years ago I came around to this idea, the Hall isn’t there to just remember the greats of the game but also to highlight history and the great players that would be forgotten. I take the view that it should be a museum of players, but also an organization of baseball learning

Any other parents out there who are passionate about their work? I've struggled a lot the past two years with having time to do Dollar Country with taking care of a baby/toddler who I am also very in love with. How have you dealt with that balance?

1974 Topps horizontal have hit a spot recently. This Carlton Fisk is a beauty, and taught me that in 1972 Fisk was tied for the league in triples, doubt many catchers have done that

Crazy to hear the ESPN booth talk about how challenging Judge last night was a pregame meeting idea when the whole sport knows the Yankees are sloppy on defense. The Dodgers told everyone that was their plan in the World Series last year

The number of replies to this thread that include Torre reminds me that when the Yankees hired him it was a shock. At the time he was a bit of a washed up manager. Just a good reminder that no manager can make a bad team good

Great fans in Baltimore. Gave Yamamoto a standing ovation after he left the game when he lost the no-hitter after 8.2 innings. Great baseball town.

I’m not sure any of us can really imagine how hard it must be to be on a very bad baseball team. Freeland overreacted but after 5 months of losing it has got to be tough to keep your emotions in check
