A perfect encapsulation of why Callum Sheedy can never be trusted. He’ll lull you into a false sense of security by being boringly competent for a bit, and then BAM: brain-meltingly stupid game-losing decision. It’s like the Prestige: there’s always a dead body under the stage somewhere.

I don't think anything's a done deal at this point by the way – things clearly change by the day and by the hour in Welsh rugby at the moment. But the idea that the Ospreys/Blues merger was some inevitable thing is entirely something stoked by a few people in the media and people on forums.

So for all of the Ospreys/Cardiff merger chat that has dominated the Welsh media for the last month…. WalesOnline reporting Y11 aren't even in the final two bidders, if they even bid at all. A cynic might wonder if, for certain members of the media, creating that damaging narrative was the point?

WalesOnline reporting that on the back Anthony Buchanan resigning from the WRU Council over the union's plans for the pro game, "a significant number of clubs" are considering calling an EGM. The WRU's AGM – where the union's plans were backed without any dissent – was 17 days ago! Blazers, man.

Don't get this twisted – most players in Wales do not have the offers on the table that Jac and Dewi did. Most of them – especially those with less than 25 caps – will likely sign new deals knowing they have no control over where they'll play next season. Because what's the alternative, really?

Jac has made it clear he'd rather have stayed in Swansea. This isn't about money, or opportunity – it's about the WRU deliberately putting the Ospreys in a position where any new contract offer comes with a huge dose of uncertainty. So he's gone. An act of pure vandalism we will never forget.
