It's amazing how AI has made searching for information online significantly harder because now I have to wade through so many pages that are copy and pasted from wikipedia or just plain useless slop. I'm hoping those big encylopedia sets will come back in style.

I'll be doing a digging trip soon for a few days. This will be the first work trip since having a kid and I'm already feeling emotional about being gone for 4 days. It really does change everything, or at least it did for me.

Patreon has slowly been implementing new features to essentially make it another social media feed. I've been using it since 2017 and I don't know how to feel about this change. Inside of me is two wolves, one wants to make a living wage and one doesn't want a new social media feed.

Here's my processing video of the Ernest Stoneman 78.

1927 is commonly known as the "Big Bang" of country music, it's when the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers recorded in Bristol TN. But there are a few folks who recorded before that, one of them being Ernest Stoneman, patriarch of the later Stoneman Family. This record is from 1926.

It's amazing to me that I can put a radio show together on my computer with records that came out 100 years ago. No one who bought this record new is alive.

The DC Documentary will be in Lawrence KS, Bethlehem PA, Dallas TX, and Austin TX this summer! More details coming soon.

The amount I've spent on gear specifically to play old records is too damn high

Digitizing 78s was so much easier before I knew they all had different EQs, groove widths, and speed variations.

This week's episode is going to be all Endangered Shellac, which is what I call any 78 that is in fewer than 5 collections on discogs. We'll have 20s-50s stuff on here, it's gonna be fun.
