I also made these stickers because I've seen Some Kind Of Monster maybe 50 times and I love it so much. I printed a bunch of the Echobrain sticker too. They've just been sitting in my basement.

I actually made the Plain, Simple Garak sticker if anyone wants one! I just don't put them up on the DC store because they don't really fit and I never knew what to do with them.

Just finished looking through a collection of 100+ boxes and in the very last one there were a dozen instantaneous discs. It's experiences like this that keep me convinced to look through every single box of a collection.

I've been playing Squardle for a couple years now and it's such a great way to get my brain going, especially when having a toddler has made me feel like it's getting smoother by the day. It's like Wordle but 6 in a grid. It looks confusing to start but you get the hang of it.

I think I'm just now realizing that playing a record from someone's hometown/region is Dollar Country's love language.

I'm bringing a record to play tonight at the Nick Shoulders show for the home town of each person in the band. New York NY, San Marcos TX, Asheville NC, Philadelphia PA, and one generally from Arkansaw about mushrooms that I thought Nick would like.

One of my favorite things is meeting someone, asking them where they're from, and getting to say "Oh I have a record from there." Where are you from? I bet I have a record from nearby.

Today I was thinking that for listening rooms my favorites are full of 78s. 45s are great, but they don't display well, they're too small. LPs are great, but they often overstay their welcome. 78s have the brevity of a single and a size worth presenting.

My eBay pro tip is to look for new auction posts, make a bid for the most you would pay for the thing, turn off all email notifications about being outbid and then forget about it. In a week you might win some and you'll forget about the ones you didn't, at least I do.

The 45s are organized A-Z aphabetically by last name of artist or first word of band name. Country Gospel LPs are sorted by state of origin.

Any other parents out there who are passionate about their work? I've struggled a lot the past two years with having time to do Dollar Country with taking care of a baby/toddler who I am also very in love with. How have you dealt with that balance?

I recently started selling a few personal items on discogs for the first time in close to a year. Already there is a different vibe. Immediately got 3 messages from users claiming to be from discogs asking me to click a link to verify my account. Half the orderers aren't paying or communicating.

A $300 record doesn't feel so rare when you realize it only pays for 1 week at an inexpensive daycare.

I'm selling records to pay for day care, and it's a strange feeling to sell records that I feel are very rare and worth a lot and then realize that they won't even pay for a month of it.

This is one I've held on to for years. It's not a record I love, but it's so rare that trying to sell it causes me a bit of anxiety. This is an original 1960 stereo pressing that has been well loved. It has one skip that I couldn't fix, but it's just so damn rare that it still demands a decent price

This thread opened up some stuff for me. Firstly I found out that there were two limited production models of Technic 1200s with 78 functionality (most don't have it), AND that there is another known copy of the Sheppard Bros and I know the person who found it!

Also there is only one known copy of the Sheppard Bros 78 and I believe Bear Family has it, so I'm not sure if they were showing the actual copy, but I would assume the owner would not have allowed it to be used by someone who very obviously didn't know anything about playing 78s.

I watched the King Records documentary and have the most niche, grumpy old man complaint that I just had to share. They show a copy of the Sheperd Bros 78 being played on a Technics 1200 turntable. But those tables don't have a 78 setting, and they played it at 33 with a modern needle.
