Between 27 October and 4 November 1937, 1111 prisoners, including 289 Ukrainian writers, scientists, and artists, were executed by the NKVD in the Sandarmokh forest in Karelia, RF.
Today, as in 1937, Russia continues to target Ukraineâs culture, identity, and intellectual life.
