Students come to me all the time with these kinds of stories. Too many in our field either perpetrate these acts themselves or tolerate them. It should be a great shame for the academy.

I’ve been bullied and exploited by a senior scholar since I was an early PhD student and am now helping guide more junior folks experiencing the same across our field. In 2028, I’ll be tenured or not—and, either way, it’s going to be a rough year for them. This has to stop.

Knowing what works, for whom, and under what conditions is one of the most powerful tools I can imagine in public policy. Adding cost effectiveness analysis can improve efficiency while understanding context supports generalizability.

From a colleague: Someone needs to explain to the public that these cuts to higher ed can affect COLLEGE FOOTBALL!

People don’t understand education research. They also don’t understand how universities work or what these cuts mean in the real world. We need folks sharing their stories to the general public so Americans can understand the crippling effects of these cuts.
