My favorite was a Norwegian newspaper, which quoted me as saying that the basic science we do is building a foundation for understanding mammalian brains. I received two emails arguing out that the Mosers had already figured it all out. That's the kind of scientific patriotism we lack in the USA.

Weekend walks and remembering my Kiko ❤️🐈

14.5 yrs ago I adopted a tiny larger than life Snowshoe in Austin TX named Kiko. She saw me through my PhD, joined me in Berlin for my postdoc and onto Edinburgh whilst setting up the lab & protecting us from Scottish gulls & pigeons. Kiko peacefully passed on Friday & I will miss her dearly ❤
