Advocates in New Zealand secured a public apology from Z Energy after legal action. The petroleum retailer took out full-page ads in newspapers apologizing for "any confusion" caused by a greenwashing 2022 PR campaign that misrepresented its focus on alternative fuels & emissions reductions.

Disasters like Odette are becoming more frequent & intense due to the fossil fuel-driven climate crisis. Shell has known for decades that fossil fuels stood to cause dangerous climate change, but chose to deceive the public, spread disinformation, and delay climate action to protect its profits.

Just weeks after meeting w CEOs of oil & gas corporations at the White House, Trump signed a new EO targeting states' rights, including laws and lawsuits related to environmental justice, pollution standards, and fossil fuel industry-driven climate damages, among other giveaways to the corporations.

This executive order is a direct attack on states’ rights to protect their residents from the climate crisis. It’s a clear attempt to silence communities demanding justice and accountability from the polluting corporations that have lied to the public for decades. www.ucs.org/about/news/e...
