Editors have a really hard job, and the good ones can make something unreadable readable, and the great ones can make something unreadable into something good. But they're basically invisible, until someone tries to write without one.

The Speaker of the House shut the chamber down for two months to block the release of the Epstein Files and the president is huddled in the Situation Room of the White House to formulate a plan to keep them from being released, and I don't know why you crazy libs think there's some kind of cover up.

Editing. The author wrote that the character had a rough childhood because he grew upon the streets. Apparently the character is a weed, or maybe mold. Yeah, I'd say that's a rough life.

I loved Superman , and I was also very glad the movie didn't rehash his origin for the umpteenth time -- everyone knows his parents were shot in Crime Alley by a radioactive spider.

Most mortals do not know that the astral dreadnought on the book cover is Xanxost’s old friend Manuel. When they told him the name of the book he got very excited and gave a big smile for the picture! It is too bad they spelled his name wrong.

Hi! I'm Ray, and I've edited TTRPGs for a long time. I wrote a basic style guide for game writers, but editors might find it useful too. This site has the most reviews of it:

In 2015 this person tweeted a joke that has become more than a meme or a viral tweet. The analogy of leopards eating people's faces is an essential part of the language (and in heavy use lately, given everything). I hope Adrian Bott takes great pride in their contribution to our culture.

I was listening to the radio while driving, and a local commercial ended with the brain-hurting line "Try it or your money back!" I plan to not only *not* try it, but to *keep on* not trying it to see how much I can get out of this.

I was today years old when I realized the etymology of "don" (as in donning a suit of armor) and "doff" (as in doffing your hat). d-on = put something ON d-off = take something OFF From Middle English contractions of "to do on" and "to do off." Makes you wonder about Homer Simpson's "d'oh!"
