Since "one in, one out" started, JRS UK and @humansforrights.bsky.social have found that at least 141 age-disputed young people have been detained under the scheme. At least 64 of these either have subsequently been found to be children by local authorities or are pending further inquiries

Survivors of trafficking are regularly subjected to immigration detention and retraumatised. Amid a legal aid crisis that's even worse in detention, they are trapped, with no way of getting desperately needed advice and support.

UN experts have called for the 'one-in-one-out' human trading scheme to be scrapped after serious abuses of people on the scheme, and the detention and removal of children and torture survivors.

Many people were forced to undergo severe trauma by being detained at Campsfield IRC. Now, the government has reopened it. This is horrifying. Immigration detention destroys lives. The government needs to end its use, not expand it.
