Fanfic has broke my brain in terms of length. I’m in the process of writing this fic, 23k words in, and am like oh well that’s sparse. Quite short. No one will be satisfied. That’s a novella. A friend pointed out that Of Mice and Men is 29k. The Old Man and the Sea is 26k.

I always respond to AO3 comments, but I usually don’t until I post another fic or chapter. I haven’t in awhile and work is dead so I am responding to comments from 300+ days ago. Whoops.
