But, ofc, that certainly won’t stop many from flattening & dispiriting the concept of “intelligence.” So they can ultimately rank & therefore create / maintain hierarchies & inequality.

I think many AI folks tend to think of intelligence as something that grows along one or a few dimensions. So you can, like, stack rank “levels” of intelligence. But I see intelligence as a convoluted multidimensional space where each dimension can’t necessarily be quantified.
