A broken countryside rain timecycle entry on PC is something that completely slipped my mind until James covered it in his video. Although the "best" fix is to edit the broken line, SilentPatch now includes a fallback for this specific mistake and parses this line correctly.

A #GTA IV remaster is on the horizon, but unfortunately it will likely be rooted in the flawed PC port. I explored just how broken the PC port really is and show how Rockstar could learn from the work modders have done to fix it.

In the next version of Fusion Fix there will be an INI option to "Unclamp Lighting", this will allow sun lighting to cast more naturally on the map and allow more shadows to be casted. Here's some before and afters...

Also found on Mike Cala's Behance portfolio page was this 2007 version of The Music of Grand Theft Auto IV, the soundtrack sampler CD that would later be included with Special Edition versions of the game, only here it includes a load of songs that didn't make it into the game...

In gta3, traffic lights cycle through 3 states: North/South East/West Pedestrians The traffic light’s model orientation determines its cycle, and at startup, my code stored the cycle in the road nodes. This is why, even if the light was knocked over, cars still obeyed the light.

In GTA San Andreas, small planes are periodically created near the player to perform a fly-by. Sometimes they crash. Before creating the plane, my code looks for obstacles in its path.

For gta3, Vice and SA; Memory on the ps2 was tight. We had to limit the number of used vehicle models to 8. My code would occasionally pick a car model to be phased out. Once there were none left on the map, this model would be removed and a new model could be loaded.

The artists gave me a texture for the moon in gta3. I placed the moon in the sky, made sure it was visible at night and that it was a reasonable size. A few days later 4 artists were at my desk asking me to change the size of the moon. "No problem" I said.
