Brush Burial: Gutter World is out TOMORROW. It's a lite immersive sim with unique melee combat centered around countering enemies and finishing them with flashy takedown moves. the levels are dense and full of hidden passages and alternate routes. and there are nearly 100 cosmetics to mix and match.

Nightreign to a degree fills that space (niche maybe even nowadays?) but misses the upgrade variety bit. They tried with deep of night but failed imo. I am excited for the new content in December though. I hope it is just an extension of the base game, and not smth like a more difficult mode.

Morsels is possibly the weirdest (positive) game I have played all year. If you know me, that's high praise. My review:

Seems like the PS5 version of Stalker 2 might be the best version of it. Apparently they make great use of the Dualsense and 3D audio which seems to elevate both ambient and gameplay feel. Very intriguing and basically what I hoped for. Still a bit wary how buggy the release might end up being.

Volume 6 of the Dragon Ball Massive release sadly contains volume 16,17 and 18. The „Z“ ark of the story begins with volume 17. Kinda wish they added smth else than those two volumes here. Maybe the movie mangas? Would be cool to just have the Dragon Ball ark like this.

Would love to get another roguelike without any meta progression except maybe unlockable characters and cosmetics. A game solely focused on extremely varied runs through a sheer insane amount of upgrades you get during a run that also have synergies. Smth like Binding of Isaac in those regards.

For how much people always complain about Remaster and Remakes and how they are done, saying they wish the games would just be rereleased untouched I see shockingly few praise for the PS Classics releases. Cause that is basically exactly what these games are. Very basic and (mostly) cheap in price.

I wonder how the performance of Morsels will be on the Switch. If it is clean I would prefer to buy it on there. Gotta wait for the first Switch reviews I guess (and hope people test it on the original Switch, which luckily still seems to happen a lot in general).

I try a lot of games, many of them JRPGs. In recent years I got way more careful with them though cause in 90% of the cases I just get disappointed with boring, repetitive combat, awful characters and hellish pacing. I feel more than comfortable calling E33 one of the best JRPGs I played.

Seeing the „true“ JRPG fans being mad about Expedition 33 fans, the games praise and success is the funniest shit ever. They just can‘t take it, it makes them so angry and passive aggressive.

In the last couple of years I noticed that French people … French speaking people? … or French culture adjacent people? … make really great games.

Tried Marvel Rivals yesterday and this is (maybe) the first time where I actually don‘t understand how people can like a game. The visuals and designs are cool, but the game plays like ass. The feedback when doing anything is so awful. Not to mention the insane amount of f2p baggage. Sorry, but wth.

I probably should have fought the last boss of Expedition 33 first thing when it was possible, cause I basically 1hit the boss in each phase without ever taking damage. Also, I am more compelled to go back and do missing end game side stuff now that I am finished. Felt similarly with DS2.

After now having finished Expedition 33 I probably should play something else instead of moving directly to Metaphor. I am not sure if that is going to be as good and maybe I also should play a different kind of game next.

I read all four of the Kaiju No 8 manga books I own now and I want more … but I should slow down this month. Luckily, the manga is a finished one with 14 volumes. I might just buy the missing ones in one bulk next month.

I reached the 9999 damage cap in Expedition 33 quite some while ago, which feels … kinda bad. Upgrades feel less like upgrades and more like trying to keep the damage cap. Damage cap in JRPGs is smth I don‘t really like tbh. I have to go for multiple hit skills now to get anything out of my dmg. :/

The Nightreign stuff looked really cool. Deep of Night was kinda disappointing for me and I haven‘t played ever since, but this new stuff looks cool. Also, surprised to see new Nightfarers. I thought the DLCs are coming April next year? Or are these maybe free?

Expedition 33 makes it sound like I am close to the end, but looking at the map, and areas that I can not reach yet, it feels like there is more coming. 🤔 I am a bit worried, because my character builds are pretty fleshed out now, I hope it doesn‘t start to drag towards the finish line.
