All i can think reading Skrmetti is that this generation deserved so much better than the world they were given. They will grow up not having seen the arc of progress but the decimation of their planet, futures, and rights. I am so, so sorry.

Dear people I'm about to give a talk to, I apologize for the fact that I'm going to be anxiously refreshing the news on my phone waiting to see if the decision in Skremetti is released.

I once literally ran into (walked into?) Conan O'Brien when leaving a restaurant. I completely failed to recognize him, but the person I was with clocked him and his relief that I was completely oblivious to who he was.

I am speechless. This is horrifying, and I feel like my civics education suggests it's also probably illegal?

I really wish it didn’t feel like reading a lot of dystopian fiction had been helpful for my current existence. Yet, I still struggle to understand the desire to make groups you dislike suffer. Usually when there’s a group I dislike, I just try to avoid interacting with them as much as possible.

If you are applying for a job in a research lab, particularly in a very specific field, it’s very helpful to include a cover letter talking about your interest in that field. (Or in a technique they use… or something that makes it clear you read the ad.)
