Warren Washington - he advised six US presidents on climate change, from Reagan to Obama. He was only the second African American to earn a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences, and was recognized with the Tyler Prize in 2019.

Rashid Sumaila changed how we manage shared resources. He showed that when countries cooperate to manage fish stocks sustainably, everybody wins! He went on to pioneer research on the economic and ecological benefits of banning harmful fishing subsidies.
